This bottle stands about 32 inches tall. The diameter is about the same as the other one. The salt firing took 34 hours after 12 hours of preheat. Sleeping by a kiln on a cold December night was interesting.
My first firing of the salt kiln - The vessel in front was 40 inches tall when hand built from slabs. It shrank to 39 inches when dry and I guess it is about 38 inches now. Diameter started at about 15 inches.

Ok - it was an experiment! Wheel thrown base, extruded middle section and hand built top and handle.

Just finished a glaze firing - will have pictures soon.

Work in progress. (Unfortunately, the 3 foot high vase to the left fell off the cart and was destroyed)
Ramblings from a ocean engineer trying to metamorphose into a potter in Tennessee with glimpses of the building of a studio, kilns and the process of making pottery: good, bad or un-informed.
